Junior Designer

We are a small, friendly team based in our factory in Poole. We are a well-known for our unique products, strong heritage and quality products. We have a growing D2C International e-commerce business.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive, creative, and talented Junior Designer with video creation and editing skills to join our creative team. You will support the design department in creating visually appealing and effective designs/campaigns for varied design briefs. As a heritage brand, we have a lot to say and are seeking an individual with the right skills to help us create content to tell our rich story. Depending on your skills you will also work with the product design team to contribute to growing our classic lava lamp range.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the senior design team, create graphic and video content to support online releases and campaigns on our e-commerce websites, email, and social media channels.
  • Manage and organise our visual content.
  • Keep packaging and instructions up to date with current information as required.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with design trends and best practices to ensure our designs are innovative and effective.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Other print/graphic media as required.
  • Contribute to the product design process as required.
  • Work in our factory shop to both serve customers and capture engaging content from our customers.

Skills Needed

  • Demonstrable ability in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
  • A good understanding of graphic, layout and web design principles.
  • An ability to create and edit video content.
  • The ability to see a campaign through from brief to realisation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a design role.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing design skills and projects.
  • Knowledge of design trends and principles.
  • Familiarity with project management and workflow tools such as Wrike.
  • Product design skills are useful but not required.

Senior eCommerce Specialist with PPC

Position Overview

Mathmos, inventors of the lava lamp, are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior eCommerce Marketing Specialist with excellent PPC skills to join our team. You will be based in the lava lamp factory in Poole and work on a broad spectrum of eCommerce activities with our small in-house team to grow our International D2C business further. This position is an excellent opportunity for a PPC specialist to work in a broader, more varied role in a small but well-known local company. It would suit a team player who enjoys working alongside others, is reliable and flexible and would enjoy making a significant contribution to the company’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative PPC strategies to drive traffic, increase conversion rates, and maximize ROI across Google, Amazon, Meta and other social media platforms.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitor analysis, and market trends to inform PPC campaign strategies.
  • Oversee budget allocation, bid management, and ad creative testing to achieve performance goals.
  • Collaborate with our in-house content creators, designers, and developers to ensure cohesive and effective campaigns.
  • Utilise analytics tools to provide regular performance reports, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement in all aspects of our eCommerce operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Monitor and analyse eCommerce performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Use other eCommerce skills to grow Mathmos’ International e-commerce business.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience of at least two years developing and implementing successful PPC campaigns in an agency or eCommerce environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of PPC platforms, including Google Ads and Amazon.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with A/B testing, landing page optimization, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Have good knowledge and experience of SEO practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to enable you to work with our small team.
  • Ability to keep up with the latest trends and best practices in eCommerce, digital marketing, and PPC.
