Oct 2018: Pretty Green x Mathmos Collaboration 2

Posted on October 12th, 2018 by Mathmos

The second collaboration between British fashion brand Pretty Green and Mathmos; inventors of the lava lamp. We have created two new variants of Mathmos’ classic astro lava lamp in a strictly limited numbered edition of 400 pieces. Each bottle is etched with a co-branded logo and this year’s unique colours are blue/orange and pink/blue.

There are two new unique lava colour combinations taken from Pretty Green’s signature paisley print. The box is hand drawn in house at Pretty Green and is inspired by the graphic art of 1960s psychedelia. This year’s box weaves in the limited edition message and is updated with the two new colours for 2018. There is a unique numbered gold sticker on each box.

The limited edition astro, the first lava lamp designed in 1963 by Mathmos’ founder Edward Craven Walker, is made in Britain. Mathmos featured in episode 6 of the recent “Made in Britain” TV series on ITV4, see here.

Pretty Greeen was founded in 2009 by Liam Gallagher, originally the lead singer of Oasis and one of the most iconic frontmen in music, the brand unites people through a love of music and fashion. Named after a track by The Jam, Pretty Green provides simple, classic clothing with a modern twist.

Available exclusively from www.mathmos.com and www.prettygreen.com and Pretty Green’s stores at £85.

‘Given the success of the first Mathmos X Pretty Green collaboration, the opportunity to work together again this season felt like the perfect progression. The project is a continued celebration of the qualities that are important to both brands and a great representation of what is truly part of both our DNA.’

Pat Salter Design Director Pretty Green

‘Mathmos and Pretty Green have a natural synergy; very British brands with roots in 1960s pop culture. Following our successful collaboration last year we liked the idea of producing a collector’s edition where every single lamp is unique.’
